We share shagun, a decorated envelope filled with gift money during special occasions like weddings or anniversaries and festivals like Rakhee, Diwali, Eid, Christmas, Pongal, Ganesh Chaturthi or Durga Puja. Even corporates offer gift money to employees during events and festivals.
Given that millions living away from family and friends use our instant money transfer facility to send money to their loved ones during festivals, we wanted to enhance this experience by enabling them to add a personal touch to their gift money.
That’s why this Rakhi we’ve launched Paytm Lifafa, a digital version of Shagun that can be customized with messages based on the occasion and sent instantly to Paytm users across India.
This is how it works —
Tap on the Send a Postcard’ option after selecting ‘Postcard’ in the Paytm home screen. Enter the mobile number of the receiver, amount and your message. Choose your occasion theme and send your money instantly. You can view a complete list of sent and received postcards in ‘My Postcards’.
This facility can be used to send money to virtually anyone with a smartphone and the Paytm app at zero extra fee and the money can then be used to pay for a variety of online and offline transactions.
