How can I accept payments using the Paytm POS ?
You can accept payments from multiple sources using your Paytm Card Machine. Just enter the amount to be collected on the screen, and the machine will show options to tap card, insert card or scan QR. Accept a payment using the customer's preferred mode.
What are the different payment sources supported by the Paytm POS ?
You can accept payments through all major credit cards, debit cards and dynamic QR. Through dynamic QR you can accept payments from all UPI Apps and Paytm Wallet.
We also offer support for International Cards and EMI payments.
Both contact and contactless cards can be used with this card machine
How do I accept payments using the machine?
Enter the amount on your screen and press enter. Machine will display options to scan QR, tap card or insert card. Accept payment through the customer's preferred mode.
How can I check my plan details including rental and charges for my EDC machine?
You can use your Paytm for Business App to view all EDC Machine related details.
Go to your Business Profile and scroll to the EDC Details tab. Here you will see your rental plan, your security deposit/usage fee and also the relevant terms & conditions including refund policy.
What should I do if the amount has been deducted from the customer's account but machine shows transaction status as failed?
The payment status on the machine is accurate. You should always provide services only if the status is successful. If an amount has been incorrectly deducted from the customer's account, you should inform the customer that it will be reversed in their account within 5-7 business days.
How can I view my transaction history?
On your GPRS machine - Press F1 on your machine to view today's transaction history. Time, amount, payment mode and transaction status will be visible.
On your Android machine - Click the top 3 bars on the Payments Screen to view recent transactions. You can also take a print of today's transaction summary.
You can also tap the Payments icon on the Paytm for Business App Homescreen. A history of your card, QR and wallet transactions is available.
Can I use my own SIM card in the EDC machine?
For best connectivity and security, we recommend you use the Paytm SIM provided by your Sales executive in your card machine. You can order a new SIM by calling our business helpdesk at 0120-4580007.
What should I do if the transaction status on the EDC device shows processing but is successful according to Paytm for Business App?
The payment status on the machine is accurate. You should always provide services only if the status on the machine is successful.
If Paytm for Business App show transaction status as processing, any amount that has been incorrectly deducted from the customer's account will be reversed in their account within 5-7 business days.
What should I do if the printer on the EDC device is not working ?
Reboot the device first and then retry with stable WiFi connection
Ensure print roll is correctly placed with glossy side upwards in the slot
What all payment modes can I use on this machine?
You can accept payments through all major credit cards, debit cards and dynamic QR. Through dynamic QR you can accept all UPI and Paytm Wallet payments.
We also offer support for International Cards and EMI payments.
Both contact and contactless cards can be used, however swipe cards are disabled. These are unsafe and should not be used.
How can I generate EMI option during transaction on EDC device?
Ask the customer to insert his credit card

How can a merchant track payment through Paytm for Business App?
Merchant needs to download P4B App from Google Playstore and is available for both Android and iOS users.
Merchant needs to go to the Payments Received section and check the transaction details for any period

I have been wrongly charged for a payment and want to check the applicable commission rates.
Charges are applied basis the applicable rates in your plan. You can check this in the Accept Payment Settings -> Charges and Limits section of your Paytm for Business App profile.

How can I check if the device is tampered?
Photographs of devices that are known to be secure can be used to compare a device's current appearance with its original appearance to see whether it has changed.
Another option may be to use a secure marker pen, such as a UV light marker, to mark device surfaces and device openings so any tampering or replacement will be apparent.
Fraudsters will often replace the outer casing of a device to hide tampering, and such methods may help to detect fraudulent activities. Device vendors may also be able to provide security guidance and “how to” guides to help determine whether the device has been tampered with.
My machine has become slow and hangs a lot. What should I do?
Please restart your machine.
If issue persists, check for new software and firmware updates. Updating your machine enhances speed and functionality and ensures best security updates are applied to your machine.
I am not sure how to track my settlements. How do I check my bank account?
You can view your active bank account in the Accept Payment Settings section of your Business Profile of your Paytm for Business App.
The machine only shows today's transactions. How do I get my monthly statement?
The Payments icon on the Paytm for Business App Homescreen provides multiple options. You can select a desired date range and download your statement.
What is an EDC device and how does it work?
EDC (Electronic Data Capture) machines are used for accepting payments at all retail outlets. Customer can pay through Debit Card, Credit Card, QR code, UPI, PPB and Net Banking.
The cards supported are Visa, Master, Rupay and International Cards.
How do I resolve APN setting issues in my EDC device?
For APN setting issues, set the APN settings as paytm.com in SIM settings and insert active sim in slot 1
Check whether the device is pre-mapped or not
Ensure that the device is charged upto 40% and then try to perform the above two steps

How can I cancel payments on EDC device?
How to cancel payments on Android devices
Click the 3 bars at the top left of the screen
Recent transactions will be shown on the screen. Select the payment which needs to be cancelled
Enter your registered mobile number
Open your Paytm App. Go to Scan QR and click on Show Payment Code at the bottom of the screen
Enter the OTP shown into your app
Payment will be cancelled. You can check this in your recent transactions
A red cross will appear next to the payment
How to cancel payments on Linux devices
In the recent payment option, select the payment you want to cancel
Select F1 for more options
Select Void Payment and press Enter
Enter your registered mobile number
Open your Paytm App. Go to Scan QR and click on Show Payment Code at the bottom of the screen
